CNN Philippines temporarily shut down operations Tuesday evening after a utility staff tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The media outfit released a statement on its social media accounts stating it would temporarily cease operations to disinfect its entire office in Mandaluyong City.

“As a precaution and for everybody’s safety, we are temporarily going off the air starting tonight to disinfect the CNN Philippines office in Mandaluyong,” it said.

A work from home setup will be enforced for majority of staff.

The network will continue to deliver news via its website and social media platforms.

“However, please be assured that we will continue to provide you the news through our website and on our social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. We will also update you on Viber with the latest news,” it said.

It was the second time for CNN Philippines to shut down operations temporarily. It paused operations from March 18 to 22 after an employee at its building tested positive for Covid-19. RJ Espartinez
