Some private schools both in Manila and Quezon City suspended classes on Monday due to the uncontrollable widespread of the novel coronavirus worldwide.

Chinese schools such as Hope Christian High School, St. Stephen’s High School, and Uno High School in Manila have declared indefinite class suspensions as they are on the process of gathering more information on travel details of the students and staff during the Chinese New Year break.

The Philippines is still free from the novel coronavirus or 2019-nCov, according to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III. Class suspensions being conducted is not part of DOH’s current guidelines.

“Definitely no need as of now,” Duque stressed.
