The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) tapped telecommunications giant PLDT to further improve their eLearning programs with enterprise-grade online applications and connectivity solutions for their members, PLDT announced in a statement on Monday.
The company said that the applications will be readily accessible for teachers and school superintendents through the Online Learning Management System which will be bundled with enterprise-grade Microsoft 365.
“Our main goal is to offer a ‘holistic’ solution that will cover most aspects of the teaching and learning experience for the academe sector and the students,” PLDT Enterprise Corporate Relationship Management Head Dick Perez said.
The web-based productivity cloud offers collaboration tools like MS Teams that teachers can use to facilitate online classes, integrate notes through OneNote, promote teacher-student collaboration, and create quizzes with integrated third party applications, PLDT said.
PLDT added that the bundle also comes with their fiber-powered connectivity for the academe and Smart’s LTE-enabled Bizload Solution for its users for hassle-free load management and distribution to connect students.
The company said that they offer these academic bundles with enterprise-grade cybersecurity as online applications are hosted on the telco’s secured network of VITRO data centers.
PLDT said that they support CEAP’s mission to serve and promote religious instruction as an essential element of Catholic education by enabling their member schools with various online applications designed for remote teaching.
As a pandemic response, the CEAP built the Task Force Covid-19 that prepared a comprehensive CEAP Learning Continuity Plan which includes sections on Flexible Learning Modalities, CEAP Enrollment Assistance Portal, Review of Fees, among others. It has also been conducting regular webinars to respond to the needs of Catholic schools, PLDT said.
