Cathay Pacific will give away 80,000 round-trip tickets to Hong Kong to citizens across Southeast Asia as part of its “World of Winners” program sponsored by the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), which will give away 500,000 free tickets to worldwide tourists.

The airline company says it allocated 20,400 seats for Filipino residents. 

The “Hello Hong Kong” marketing campaign is launched to support the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s (HKTB) campaign to communicate to tourists from around the world that Hong Kong is once again open and ready to welcome travelers.

“As Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong emerge from the past three challenging years and markets begin to recover, we are excited to be rebuilding both our Company and our home hub,” Dominic Perret, Cathay Pacific’s Regional General Manager for Southeast Asia said. 

The HKTB and the tourist and hospitality industries have put together a variety of attractive welcome packages from more than 16,000 establishments around the city to welcome back guests. At least 1 million “Hong Kong Goodies” visitor consumption vouchers will be distributed in the beginning, each of which can be redeemed for a complimentary welcome drink at participating bars, restaurants, and hotels or a cash voucher that can be used for attractions, dining, shopping, and transportation.

According to Mr. Raymond Chan, Regional Director, Southeast Asia of Hong Kong Tourism Board, he is confident that visitors will enjoy a unique and unforgettable travel experience when they return to this vibrant city with Hong Kong’s diverse culture and immersive tourism offerings.

As part of the sponsorship, Vivian Cheung, Chief Operation Officer of AAHK also considered the aviation industry that was affected by the pandemic and gave assurance to their reliefs. 

“As part of the relief package for Hong Kong’s aviation industry during the pandemic, AAHK provided liquidity support to the home-based carriers in 2020 by sponsoring air tickets in advance. The air tickets will be used to promote traffic recovery when the pandemic subsides.”

Participants must be Cathay Pacific members to participate in the program. One may visit Cathay Pacific’s website to sign up for a free membership. The campaign will run from March 3 at 12:00 local time until March 9 at 23:59 local time.

Members are required to visit the campaign website during this time, log in using their Cathay membership information, and properly answer three questions. The first 20,400 participants who submit the right answers will win the prize.

Just one entry per member is allowed. On March 21, 2023, the campaign website will reveal the winners. Winners will also get an email with instructions on how to claim their reward. Kevin Ortiz
