To make the experience as immersive as possible, ARMY bombs (the official lightstick of BTS) can be used and synced when streaming via Weverse, the official platform for the fan community.
BTS was slated to kick off their “Map of the Soul Tour” at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on April 11, 12, 18, and 19, but the four-day event was cancelled amid the Covid-19 outbreak. The North American leg is postponed until further notice.
The “Map of the Soul Tour” is in line with the promotion of their newest full album “Map of the Soul: 7” which recently became the first album ever to earn a quadruple-million certification in Gaon Music Chart — South Korea’s version of Billboard charts that measures the popularity of songs and albums.
This makes “Map of the Soul: 7” the best-selling album in 2020 so far and BTS the only artist in Gaon chart history to achieve double, triple and quadruple million album certifications.
With the majority of the world on a lockdown, many artists have hosted live “mini” concerts at home or have participated in quarantine segments of TV shows like James Corden’s “Homefest” for The Late Late Show, where BTS performed the best-selling track “Boy With Luv.”
The concert marathon comes at a perfect time as everyone — especially the BTS ARMY — are looking for ways to cope and stay grounded.
“It’s quite a difficult time for everyone in the world right now,” RM, leader of BTS, said to Corden during the Homefest interview. “We’re so grateful we can connect with you from here. It may seem like we’re isolated but we’re still connected through our shared experiences, courage, and laughter.”
Time to mark your calendars and set your alarms, ARMYs!
