Damage to agriculture due to the combined effects of the weather systems since January 2 has reached P885 million, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Agricultural losses worth P885,165,517.43 were recorded in Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and Caraga, the latest NDRRMC situational report showed.

At least 39,984 farmers and fishermen suffered in these areas due to the rains and floods brought about by low pressure areas, shear lines, and the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.

The National Irrigation Administration also logged P25,610,000 worth of damages.

The inclement weather resulted to a total of P539,239,624.68 worth of damage to 265 infrastructure in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Soccsksargen, and Bangsamoro Region.

Around P45,329,951 worth of damages in educational materials and electronics were also recorded in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Region.
