Flash floods severely affected 11 Bataan towns and one city and affected 7,650 families according to the the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Fortunately, no landslides or deaths were reported.

Five-foot deep floodwaters submerged 11 barangays in Hermosa, five in Dinalupihan, three in Pilar, two in Abucay and one each in Balanga City, Orion and Morong.

Although the water has subsided in many areas by Sunday, Barangays Almacen, Daungan and Pulo in Hermosa are still under three to five-foot flood waters.. 40 families were forced to seek temporary shelter for a day in evacuation centers in both Hermosa and Pilar towns.

In Balanga City, a temporary steel bridge passing through Sibacan River collapsed due to the unbearable weight of debris clogging the waterway and the rampaging flood water.

Relief goods were distributed and government agencies were mobilized to conduct both rescue and relief operations as directed by Governor Albert Garcia. (Jojo Mangahis)
