A Pulse Asia survey saw 91 percent of Filipinos approve of President Rodrigo Duterte’s course of action in containing the spread of Covid-19.

The survey was conducted from Sept. 14 to 20.

Of the 92 percent, 62 percent said they “truly approve” of Duterte’s measures while 30 percent said they “somewhat approve.”

Pulse Asia also recorded a 91-percent trust rating for Duterte in a separate poll.

Results of surveys such as these were inspiring to the administration, according to Palace spokesman Harry Roque.

“Pilipinas, maraming salamat po sa binigay ninyong tiwala na naman sa ating Presidente… We are humbled and we are further inspired to serve the Filipino people in this time of pandemic and crisis,” he said in a Malacañang briefing.

As of Oct. 8, 331,869 Filipinos have contracted Covid-19. The country’s death count surpassed the 6,000-mark on Thursday. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
