A 4.2-magnitude earthquake rocked Davao Oriental Tuesday afternoon.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor, which is tectonic in origin struck at 3:00 p.m., about 9 kilometers northwest of Lupon with a depth of 32 kilometers.

Intensity 3 was felt in Davao City.

Instrumental intensities were also recorded in the following areas:

Intensity II- Davao City

Intensity I- Kidapawan City

Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks were recorded.

On Monday night, a magnitude 5.9 quake jolted Kadingilan, Bukidnon. Different intensities were felt at different parts of Mindanao.

In October, a series of powerful quakes struck several areas of Mindanao, claiming several fatalities, dozens injured and structures damaged or destroyed. (Rommel F. Lopez)
