Isulan, Sultan Kudarat  – Local police have arrested over the weekend one of the suspects charged for involvement in one of the two bombings here that left three persons dead and hurt 36 others in August last year.

Police Lt. Col. Junny Buenacosa, Isulan town police chief, identified the suspect as named Tutin Kuti, 27, was arrested by a joint police and military team in his residence in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao on Saturday.  

Kuti is also believed to be a member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters tagged as responsible for the August 28 roadside bombing of the town.  He has denied any involvement in the bombing.

Buenacosa said witnesses saw Kuti and a companion leave a back pack under a parked motorcycle in front of “ukay-ukay” stalls. The bomb exploded at about 7 p.m.

He added that Kuti is also tagged in the foiled March 2016 roadside bombing in this town as well.

He is detained at Isulan municipal police custodial facility under heavy guard. (Rommel F. Lopez)
