Malacañang on Friday insisted on its “neutrality” on ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal application in reaction to the vote of a House committee to deny the network a broadcast franchise.
ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak on Friday said the House Committee on Legislative Franchises’ vote to deny ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal was “painful,” but vowed that the network would remain focused on serving the public.
This marks only the second time in history that the broadcast giant was shut down by the government.
