The office of outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo said her team would be ready to meet with Vice President-elect Sara Duterte for a smooth transition of power.
“We respectfully acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 27 May 2022 requesting an initial meeting between our respective teams,” Robredo said in a letter to Duterte.
“Please be advised that we are ready to meet to answer any questions you may have regarding the Office of the Vice President and to take all necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition.”
Robredo ordered her chief of staff, Undersecretary Philip Dy, to connect directly with the team of Duterte to schedule the meeting.
Earlier, Duterte’s camp said that they talked to Robredo’s camp for a virtual meeting.
Meanwhile, Robredo wished her successor well.
“Warmest congratulations on your proclamation as the 15th Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines,” she said.
