The Philippines reported 24,100 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from July 25 to 31, 2022, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

The DOH’s weekly Covid-19 case bulletin showed that the new caseload was 24% higher than the infections reported from July 18-24 with 19,536 cases. 

The daily case average for the week increased to 3,443 from the 2,791 of the previous week.

Moreover, there are 44 additional verified Covid-19 fatalities posted. 

Among the said number, one occurred in June 2022, three in January 2022, two in November 2021, seven in October 2021, 20 in September 2021, and 11 in August 2021.

The health department’s data also showed 744 severe and critical infections currently undergoing medical treatment in hospitals.
