Zamboanga City has tripled its security forces following Monday’s twin bombing incidents in Jolo, Sulu.
This was announced by Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar as she thanked the Marine Battalion Landing Team (MBLT-11), the 24th Infantry Battalion, the Joint Task Force Zamboanga, the Coast Guard and the police force for ensuring the safety and security of the city.
Climaco-Salazar said that immediately after the Jolo explosions, the police and military deployed their forces in downtown Zamboanga.
Sea patrols also check on all water vessels entering and exiting Zamboanga City, she said.
The mayor condemned the Jolo bombings and the people for vigilance and prayers for those who died in the incident that killed 15 people and wounded 77 others. Jojo Mangahis
