Water levels in both Angat and Bustos dams in Bulacan improved as monsoon rains and Tropical Storm Hanna brought rainfall to these dams over the weekend.
the Philipine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Angat’s water elevation level to be 169.26 meters up from yesterday’s 6 a.m. read of 168.33 meters as of Tuesday, August 6.
Although the current water level is 9.26 meters above the dam’s critical level, it is still 10.74 meters below its minimum operating level of 180 and 40.74 meters below its normal high-water level of 210.
On the other hand, Bustos Dam, which serves as a catch basin for overflowing water from Angat Dam, also posted an improvement.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Bustos Dam’s water elevation is at 17.53 meters, which is slightly above the overflow level of 17.50 meters. (Jojo Mangahis)
