Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto placed under granular lockdowns 37 areas in the city to stop the sudden surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, including the new variants in Metro Manila.

Granular lockdown is different from an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), as authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) were still allowed to go outside for work or for emergency cases.
Non-APORs were not allowed to go outside and visitors were also not allowed.
The new protocol would start on Saturday, March 20, and would run for two weeks until April 1.
