The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is set to develop a vaccine certificate system for vaccinated individuals by August, an official said.

The vaccine certificate system follows the World Health Organization’s digital certificate standards and can be used for international travels, Undersecretary Manny Caintic said.

“By August, early August, pwede na nating ilunsad ang vaccine certificate. Para sa ganun pag mag-request naman ang isang tao ng vaccine certificate, nanduon (database) ang record niya, most likely,” said Caintic in a Laging Handa government briefing.

(By August, early August, we can launch the vaccine certificate. So when a person makes a request for a vaccine certificate, there are records available in the database, most likely.)

The DITC is expecting a complete list of vaccinated individuals from the local government units  to be submitted by July 31, said Caintic.

“Magkakaroon tayo nang issuance ng isang vaccine certificate system, kung saan hindi siya basta-basta mapepeke kasi it will be private-key encrypted. Hindi siya basta-basta magagaya kung saan man,” Caintic said.

(We will have a vaccine certificate system that will not be easily falsified because it will be private-key encrypted. It will not be easily imitated anywhere.) Ariel Jack Tejado II
