Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. has assured the Department of Education (DepEd) that the government would prioritize students who would participate in the expansion phase of limited face-to-face (F2F) classes in its vaccination drive.

In a “Laging Handa” briefing, Education Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan said Galvez made an assurance that the vaccination of students from all grade levels would be prioritized.

“Kasama doon sa ating expanded phase ay ang agreement natin ng Department of Health ay ang vaccination of all our learners is preferred,” he said.

The government is set to expand the coverage of the country’s vaccination drive to include kids aged five to 11 on Feb. 4.

Malaluan said 14 million students belonged in the age group.

The country began inoculating minors aged 12 to 17 in October 2021.
