The Hargreeves are back!
The American superhero web television series “The Umbrella Academy” released its second season worldwide on July 31, Friday.
The series is based on the comic books written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, published by Dark Horse Comics. The comic books won Best Finite Series/Limited Series in the 2008 Eisner Awards.
Created for Netflix by Steve Blackman and developed by Jeremy Slater, the series was reported to have been watched by 45 million viewers during its first month of release in February last year.
The series revolves around seven children who were born on the same day and adopted by eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves to create “The Umbrella Academy,” a superhero team.
In season one, Hargreeves siblings Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Five (Aidan Gallagher), Ben (Justin H. Min) and Vanya (Ellen Page) were reunited to solve their father’s death and stop a looming apocalypse.

Failing to save the world in season one, the second season revolves around the siblings transporting back in time in order to stop the apocalypse.
There, they learn that Five had transported all of them through different years from 1960 to 1963: Klaus and Ben in 1960, Allison in 1961, Luther in 1962, and Five, Diego, and Vanya in 1963.
In this season, Luther works as a bodyguard for a nightclub owner, Diego is stuck in an asylum, Allison is married to a civil rights activist, Klaus has started a cult with Ben trailing behind, Vanya suffers from amnesia, and Five has to get them back together with the apocalypse happening in 10 days.
