The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) has officially cancelled all of its second semester sports in Season 82 due to the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-10) pandemic.
UAAP president Em Fernandez and executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag Jr. made the announcement through a memorandum.
The two officials said the government’s decision to extended enhanced community quarantine in Luzon until April 30 prevented the resumption of the UAAP Season 82.

“As such, it is now deemed cancelled,” the memorandum said.
Cancelled are the men’s and women’s volleyball tournaments and the men’s football tournament while the women’s football, athletics, baseball, lawn tennis, softball and 3×3 basketball tournaments had not started yet.
The UAAP was considering an “alternative format” to continuing the season should the government lift the lockdown by April 15. It has already suspended the collegiate events in their traditional format and cancelled all of its high school events.
With the government’s lockdown extension, the UAAP decided to terminate the entire season, following the NCAA which cancelled its entire 95th season on March 19.
The UAAP said all issues arising from the cancellation “will be resolved at the proper time, as we continue to focus our time, energy, and resources in battling this crisis.” (Rommel F. Lopez)
