Disaster agency officials on Wednesday reported that typhoon “Quinta” left nine people dead and caused more than P429 million in damage.
In its latest situation report released Wednesday noon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) disclosed that Calabarzon suffered the most infrastructure and agricultural damage, amounting to almost P370 million.
The Bicol and Western Visayas regions in Visayas incurred agricultural damage amounting to P29.6 million and P17.8 million, respectively.
Central Luzon sustained P8 million in infrastructural damage, while Ilocos Region recorded P4.8 million in agricultural losses.
Apart from the nine casualties, six injuries and two missing persons were reported in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region and Western Visayas.
“Quinta” affected a total of 49,557 families (209,457 individuals). Of the number, 12,223 families (48,417 individuals) were relocated to evacuation centers.
NDRRMC recorded 60 flooding events, 17 landslides and soil collapses and four maritime incidents.
On Monday, Malacañang said P890 million worth of food packs and standby aid had been prepared by the Department of Social and Welfare Development for typhoon victims.
