Tagaytay placed Barangays Mag-asawang Ilat and Calabuso under lockdown on May 24 following new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid19).

A Facebook post by the city government said the lockdown was triggered when a company’s eight employees, three of whom were city residents, were confirmed positive as indicated by the results of their rapid diagnostic testing (RDT).

“Aking hinihingi ang pang-unawa at kooperasyon ng lahat ng mga mamamayan ng Calabuso at Mag-asawang Ilat (I ask for the understanding and cooperation of all the residents of Barangays Calabuso and Mag-asawang Ilat),” Mayor Agnes Tolentino said.

“Tanging kaligtasan ninyo lamang ang aming iniingatan (Your utmost safety is what we are trying to protect).”

Upon contact tracing, a relative of one of the employees also tested positive in the RDT.

These four residents were tagged as probable cases as they await Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing to confirm results.

The company also has employees residing in neighboring Laguna and Batangas provinces. (Jojo Mangahis)
