Tropical Depression Luis maintained its strength as it moves north northwestward over the Philippine Sea, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Luis was spotted 1,060 km East of Extreme Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center with gustiness of up to 70 km/h.

It is moving north northwestward at 25 km/h and has strong winds extending outwards up to 290 km from the center,

Meanwhile, PAGASA said Luis is unlikely to directly influence the weather in the country.
