The National Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that typhoon Tisoy affected 1,397,330 persons or 320,006 families, and caused agricultural damage amounting to over P2 million.

Those affected came from 2,381 barangays in Regions III, V, VII, CAR and CARAGA.

Tisoy claimed the lives of 12 people and caused injuries to 54 others in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V and VIII.

A total of 20,573 families or 90,582 persons sought temporary refuge in 592 evacuation centers. 

253,948 houses, 710 schools, 21 health facilities and 86 other public structures were damaged in Regions I, III, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, V, VI, VIII, CAR AND CARAGA.

114 road sections and 3 bridges were also affected. 19 of these road sections and the 3 bridges remain impassable.

Heavy flooding caused by the typhoon affected 301 areas with MIMAROPA experiencing power interruption.  

Damage to crops, fisheries, livestock and agricultural infrastructure amounted to P2,096,564,966.50.

A state of calamity was declared in Batangas City, Mabitac in Laguna, parts of Romblon, Lapinig in Northern Samar and the provinces of Quezon, Cavite, Marinduque, Oriental and Occidental Mindoro.

P12,218,011.28 worth of assistance was extended by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of Civil Defense and local government units.  (Jojo Mangahis)
