The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) is planning to enroll around 1.8 million trainees from their various technical vocational (tech-voc) courses this year.

“The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority is eyeing to train around 1.8 million Filipinos in various technical vocational courses in 2023,” the agency said in a statement.

The agency said that they are committed to elevating its number of enrolled, graduated, assessed, and certified Technical and Vocational Education and Training scholars.

Tesda is planning to exceed the 1,231,289 enrollees who already graduated from their respective courses. Among the said number, 844,368 were certified as skilled workers.

These graduates came from 183 Tesda technology institutions, 250 public TVET providers, and 4,197 privately-run tech-voc institutions nationwide.

“As these registered programs comply with the Training Regulations that TESDA developed in close coordination with industry, their graduates are job-ready, with the right skills and knowledge needed by employers,” Tesda further said.
