Mga EBIDENSIYA ng kurapsyon sa pagitan ng Chinese companies at ng Gobyerno | Sen. Richard Gordon

Sen. Richard Gordon was unable to contain his emotions over the Duterte’s administration’s handling of Covid-19 funds and the government’s pandemic response.

In the latest episode of PressOnePH’s podcast The PressRoom, the chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee said the probe into the government’s Covid-19 spending was not a fight between him and President Rodrigo Duterte, but an effort to help Filipinos who were suffering amid the pandemic.

“Araw-araw may nagte-text sa akin, ‘Wala po kaming kama, saan po ba makakakuha ng remdesivir? Walang oxygen’ […] this is what it is all about,” Gordon said.

“It is a breakdown of leadership. The breakdown of government’s responsibility sa tao, kung hindi tayo magsisilbi sa tao sino magtatanggol sa tao?” he added.

“Kami kaya namin pero ‘yung mga mahihirap? Walang makain, walang trabaho, papasok sa ospital. Excuse me po, taob na po ang kaldero, ‘yan lang po ang gusto ko sabihin,” said Gordon.

President Rodrigo Duterte and Gordon have been trading barbs since early September when Gordon’s Senate Blue Ribbon Committee began a probe into the Duterte’s government’s questionable deals with suppliers of personal protective equipment.
