Filipinos should not focus on the country’s total Covid-19 cases and instead note that nine in 10 cases have already recovered, Malacañang said on Monday.
“Huwag ninyo pong titingnan lamang ang 1 million cases. Unang-una, halos 900,000 na po ang gumaling diyan so mga aktibong cases ay mahigit-kumulang 100,000,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
Latest data from the Department of Health put the country’s Covid-19 caselog at 1,006,428.
Of the total, 914,952 have already recovered, while 16,853 have died.
Roque said that on a global scale, the country reaching 1 million in Covid-19 cases was not a “negative reflection.”
He also claimed that the country had been doing well in managing the Covid-19 crisis.
“So I don’t think it is a negative reflection. On the other hand dahil nga po mayroon tayong world ranking, makikita po natin na we are managing still the new variants rather well,” he said. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
