Tagum City confirmed one new case of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) involving a fish stall owner of the city’s public market, forcing the city government to close the public market for one week for disinfection and contact tracing.
The city government said all those who came into contact with the fish vendor at the public market are considered Persons under Monitoring. Stall owners and vendors of nearby stalls were also contacted by city health officials and made to undergo mag mandatory self-quarantine.
Market goers who went to the public market from August 20 to September 6 were also advised to undergo voluntary self-quarantine and to contact the city’s Covid-19 Hotline if they experience any symptoms like couging, colds, body aches and flu.
The entire public market was closed beginning September 8 and lasting up to September 14 for decontamination.
The local government said the Tagum City Public Market will go back to normal operations on September 15, 2020.
Meanwhile, the city government also released the following details about the seven new suspect cases:
1. From Brgy. Cuambogan, 43 years old, female, admitted last September 07, 2020 at Davao Regional Medical Center and manifested some symptoms.
The following suspect cases are under home quarantine due to manifestation of symptoms:

3. From Brgy. Poblacion, 44 years old, female
4. From Brgy. Poblacion, 43 years old, male
5. From Brgy. Apokon, 27 years old, male
6. From Brgy. Apokon, 16 years old, female
7. From Brgy. La Filipina, 35 years old, male
The local government also announced two newest confirmed recoveries.
1. From Brgy. San Isidro, 40 years old, male
2. From Brgy. Magugpo North, 28 years old, female
