The Department of Health’s Western Visayas Center for Health Development has asked Antique province to immediately identify the close contacts of two confirmed local cases of the Covid-19 Delta variant.
The surge of coronavirus disease 2019 cases (Covid-19) in Western Visayas was because the OCTA Research Group recommended that most vaccine doses should be allocated in the NCR Plus region.
The suspension will remain in Iligan City, Lanao del Sur and Bacolod City—areas under modified enhanced community quarantine until Sept. 30.
In a virtual press briefing from Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said senior citizens and those below 21 years old would still be banned in accordance with health and safety regulations.
