The United States Embassy in Manila says it welcomes the Philippine government’s decision to suspend the termination of the Visiting Forces Agreement.
“The abrogation of the Visiting Forces Agreement has been suspended upon the President’s instruction,” Locsin said in his tweet.
The survey was conducted after the June 9 incident at Recto Bank near the disputed Kalayaan Islands, in which a Chinese vessel rammed a Filipino fishing boat and left the crew in peril at sea.
