Roque made the statement after the hashtag #wag_kalimutan_yung_binulsang_15billion_sa_philhealth_challenge went viral on Facebook and Twitter.
“No Duque? No del Rosario? I’m dumbfounded! Article 217 of the RPC (Revised Penal Code) is very clear,” Sotto told reporters.
“Iyong PhilHealth ang dapat imbestigahan at dapat i-prosecute lahat at dapat ikulong. Kung iyan na lang ang trabaho ko sa maiwan ko sa dalawang taon, iyan na rin ang gagawin ko,” Duterte said in a taped public address aired Tuesday morning.
The six, however, were not members of the PhilHealth “mafia” which, according to resigned anti-fraud officer Thorrsson Keith, misused and pocketed about P15 billion in funds.
“[PhilHealth] categorically denies in strongest terms that its senior officials have “pocketed” some P15 billion as alleged by Thorrsson Keith during the Senate hearing on Aug. 4, 2020,” PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales said in a statement.
