President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday approved the Department of Justice-led task force’s recommendation to file criminal and administrative charges against resigned Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) President Ricardo Morales and other officials over anomalies within the state insurer.
“The law is very clear: If there is a criminal liability incurred when you are in office, it subsists; and public officers can be held liable for them whether or not they continue to be in office,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque told reporters.

Amid corruption issues hounding the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth), its beleaguered president and CEO Ricardo Morales bemoaned that his privacy was not respected while his agency was being investigated.
