The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) on Friday admitted that it still owes billions of pesos to public and private health facilities due to the delay in the processing of “hundreds of thousands of [Covid-19] claims.”
The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) said it has enough funds to pay its debts to hospitals amid complaints that the agency has existing debts amounting to billions of pesos.
The DCPM is used to facilitate the settlement of accounts payable to healthcare facilities during the state of public health emergency brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last week, PhilHealth chief Dante Gierran on admitted that the state insurer had been slow in paying hospitals’ claims due to reduced workforce.
