Metro Manila needs to remain under general community quarantine until the “surge” in Covid-19 infections in the region is moderated, University of Santo Tomas (UST) researchers said.
The Covid-19 pandemic has been “relatively subdued and controlled” in Metro Manila despite a shift to the less restrictive general community quarantine on June 1, modelling by researchers from the University of Santo Tomas showed.
The expected transition to the less stringent general community quarantine (GCQ) will lead to a further spike in the number of Covid-19 cases, according to projections of the “UST-CoV-2 Model.”
