Parts of the towns of Agoncillo and Laurel had been re-opened yesterday to its residents by Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas as the alert status of Taal Volcano was lowered from 4 to 3 last Sunday.
Due to a “decreased tendency toward a hazardous explosive eruption,” the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs)lowered the alert level of Taal volcano from 4 to 3.
Alert Level 4 is still up in Taal as the volcano can erupt any time according to the Phivolcs
Contrary to fake news spread on social media, Mt. Kanlaon is on Alert Level 0.
