Palace spokesman Harry Roque announced on Monday that the Philippines has surpassed its target Covid-19 daily testing capacity of 30,000 Covid-19 as of May 20.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said employers who would require returning employees to be tested for Covid-19 would have to shoulder the cost.
Palace spokesman Harry Roque said on Tuesday it was “impossible” for any country to test all citizens for the coronavirus and the Philippines was aiming to “target test” 1.5 to 2 percent of the population.
Palace spokesman Harry Roque said the government was struggling to perform mass Covid-19 testing as other countries stockpiled on rapid testing kits.
There will be mass testing after all, and it will begin in less than two weeks.
