In a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte and other Cabinet members, Public Works Secretary Mark Villar revealed that the Bicol Region was dealt with the biggest infrastructure blow, recording P4.5 billion in damage.
President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to probe government irregularities would not exempt anyone, not even Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and Public Works Secretary Mark Villar whom the chief executive had repeatedly defended, Malacañang said Thursday.
Duterte also said government officials facing criminal or administrative charges would not be absolved from liability even after they stepped down from their posts.
“It’s not inconceivable that another task force of the DPWH may be formed by the President, in the same way that he formed one for the PhilHealth,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque told CNN Philippines’ The Source.
“Si Secretary Villar, mayaman. Si Secretary Villar, maraming pera ‘yan. Hindi niya kailangan mangurakot. Ang problema sa baba, malakas pa rin hanggang ngayon,” Duterte said in a televised address on Monday.
