In spite of the recent shootout in Quezon City between agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the two law enforcement agencies teamed up to burn marijuana plants estimated at P8-million in Tingalayan, Kalinga last Thursday.
Law enforcers arrested three suspects and uprooted a total of PHP8.8-million worth of marijuana plants planted in a remote part of the mountain village of the western Cebu town of Balamban Thursday.
P20.49 million worth of marijuana plants and seedlings were confiscated and destroyed recently by the Cordillera PNP after a series of anti illegal drugs operations in the region.
