The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said Saturday that once its operations resume, a 15-day window will be allocated for a “special draw” for lotto tickets bought before the lockdown period.
President Rodrigo Duterte has lifted the suspension of small-town lottery (STL) operations subject to conditions, including the posting of a hefty bond that the state-run lottery agency could forfeit in case of non-remittance of the government’s share of receipts.
Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara thanked the president, saying there were no more hitches to the implementation of the Universal Healthcare Law, which is to be funded by lotto revenues.
If President Rodrigo Duterte wants to purge corruption out of the PCSO, then he should go after his corrupt officials.
The president said that he had no choice but to stop the gaming operations of the PCSO because the system only benefited a few corporations and people.
