The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said that around 82,000 or 35% of the 230,000 public utility jeepneys nationwide have received a copy of the new fare matrix, giving them permission to increase their fares.
The government has allowed some routes of traditional public utility jeepneys (PUJs) to operate in Metro Manila under the general community quarantine (GCQ) starting July 3, 2020.
Provincial buses remain barred from entering Metro Manila, Palace spokesman Harry Roque said.
