Robredo said the current funding for her committee is not enough to conduct its duties and responsibilities. She added that Sen. Panfilo Lacson has committed to try and increase the government’s funding for the war on drugs.
Vice President Robredo says she’s “all for evidence-based strategy and approach,” noting that President Duterte himself was frustrated the number of drug dependents rose to 7 to 8 million three years after the drug war began.
Vice President Robredo said that if only to “stop the killings of the innocent and hold to account those responsible,” she had accepted the post against the advice of her allies, who claimed the offer was insincere or a trap.
