“We understand the concerns of certain quarters to have health experts guide local government units (LGUs) in the execution of their plans,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement.
In Resolution No. 62 released on Wednesday, the IATF said the move would help operationalize “the national government-enabled, local government-led and people-centered” Covid-19 response strategy of the country.
Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo on Sunday said President Rodrigo Duterte was donating a month’s pay to the Covid-19 relief. Cabinet members also pledged to donate a huge portion of their salaries, he said.
