Broadcaster Raffy Tulfo is the most preferred candidate for senator in the 2022 elections, results of a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.

Tulfo was the senatorial pick of 57 percent of the respondents.

He was followed by Sorsogon Rep. Chiz Escudero, House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda and resigned Public Works secretary Mark Villar, who all mustered 41 percent.

In fifth place was Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano with 38 percent, followed by Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri (34 percent) and former senator Jinggoy Estrada (29 percent).

Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who is Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo’s running-mate for 2022, was eighth with 28 percent.

TV personality Willie Revillame, who said last week that he would not venture into politics, tied with Sen. Risa Hontiveros at ninth place with 25 percent.

Completing the top 12 were incumbent senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Richard Gordon.

The survey, commissioned by Stratbase ADR Institute, was conducted from Sept. 12 to 16 and had 1,200 respondents.
