The number of Filipinos opposed to receiving Covid-19 vaccines dropped to eight percent in December 2021, results of a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
The previous iteration of the survey, conducted in September 2021, saw 18 percent of Filipinos hesitant about vaccination.
According to the SWS, the number of Filipinos who were uncertain about receiving Covid-19 vaccines also dropped, from 19 percent to six percent.
The survey, conducted from Dec. 12 to 16, had 1,440 adult Filipino participants.
Of the number, 50 percent said they had received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose.
Thirty-five percent of unvaccinated individuals were willing to get vaccinated.
Acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles on Friday welcomed the results of the survey.
“Senyales ito ng matagumpay nating pagtutulungan, tayong lahat—kayo na nasa media na nagbibigay ng tamang impormasyon, and then of course government making sure na nandyan yung supplies sa lahat ng regions at ginagawa po natin ang lahat ng hakbang para maging accessible po ang bakuna sa lahat ng areas dito sa ating bansa, and of course, ang taong bayan,” he said in a Palace briefing.
As of Jan. 20, nearly 57 million Filipinos have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations. More than 59 million have yet to receive their second doses. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
