The Social Weather Stations (SWS) has found that majority of Filipinos have remained adherent to the government’s health protocols against Covid-19.

In a survey conducted from Sept. 17 to 20, a huge percentage of Filipinos assured compliance to the four health protocols.

Seventy-nine percent of adult Filipinos said they always wore face masks outside; 67 percent washed their hands several times a day; 60 percent followed the one-meter physical distancing rule; and 56 percent always wore face shields in public transportation and when in malls, markets and drugstores.

Malacañang was elated with the results, saying the government’s information drive had proven effective.

“The Palace views the [survey] on Covid-19 safety measures encouraging as it reveals that large majorities of Filipinos have been following the recommended health protocols by the government,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement.

“This goes to show that our drive to inform and educate people to observe public health standards have reached our countrymen,” he added.

Roque reminded Filipinos to continue following the government’s directives and not be complacent as the country ends its seventh month under lockdown.

[T]here is still no vaccine or cure available. We must never fail on reminding our people to continue adhering to these Covid-19 safety measures, especially now that we have started to gradually reopen the economy,” he said.`
