The Department of Health (DOH) announced that students who will be included in face-to-face classes are not required to receive the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines amid the government’s plan to consider children in the vaccination drive.
Students who will participate in the pilot implementation of the face-to-face classes are kindergarten to Grade 3 as well as senior high school.
Those aged 12-17 are the only qualified bracket to receive the vaccines.
“Kakaunti lamang sila (senior high school) pero hindi po iyan pre-requisite para matuloy ang face-to-face classes,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said.
The Department of Education added that all teachers as well as school personnel joining the pilot run of the limited face-to-face classes should be vaccinated. Ronald Espartinez
