San Miguel Corp. has finished the construction of the entire 18-kilometer stretch of the Skyway Stage 3 project.

Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said the completion of the girder construction of Skyway Stage 3 would connect every city in Metro Manila “within a 30-minute frame.”

Skyway Stage 3, which was started in the Aquino administration, aims to link the northern and southern portions of Metro Manila, significantly reducing the two-hour travel time from the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX( to North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to only 30 minutes.

“Makati to Quezon City will only be 20 minutes away,” Villar said.

Villar said the Skyway Stage 3 project was one of 23 projects aimed at decongesting EDSA.

These projects include the BGC-Ortigas Link Bridge, the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge, Lawton Avenue, the Katipunan Avenue Extension, the Laguna Lake Expressway, the NLEX Harbor Link, NLEX-SLEX Connector and the Pantaleon Estrella Bridge.  Jojo Mangahis
