The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has warned the public against a new investment scheme promising a 175% return in just 25 days.

The SEC said it has found 1 HEAL 1 WORLD TRADING to be soliciting investments from the public without the necessary licenses.

The commission also found out that the company, which claims to be engaged in forex trading, promises its investors a 170% return of investment in just 25 days, with the payout given in four cycles with a 5% deduction.

“The Commission does not allow the registration of foreign exchange in the nature of commodity/financial futures constract and other similar derivatives nor commodity futures exchanges and commodity merchants/ brokers,” SEC said.

The SEC warned that “those who act as salesmen, brokers, dealers or agents of the said entity in selling or convincing people to invest in the investment scheme it is being offered including soliciting investments or recruiting investors through the internet may be held criminally liable under Section 28 of the SRC and penalized with a maximum fine of Five Million Pesos (Php5,000,000.00) or imprisonment of twenty One (21) years or both.”

It added that they will charge those involved in the illegal investment scheme under the provision of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (Republic Act No. 11469) for take advantage of the “current crisis situation to prey on the public through scams, phishing, fraudulent emails, or other similar acts.”

The SEC said it shall also report the names involved to the Bureau of Internal Revenue for the filing of appropriate charges.

“The public is hereby advised not to invest or stop investing in any investment scheme being offered by any individual or group of persons allegedly for or on behalf of 1 HEAL 1 WORLD TRADING and to exercise caution in dealing with any individuals or group of persons soliciting investments for and on behalf of it,” the SEC said.

The SEC also also enjoins the public to to report to them any continuing activities of 1 HEAL 1 WORLD TRADING to their Enforcement and Investor Protection Department at epd@sec.gov.ph. Rommel F. Lopez
