The Supreme Court suspended work in various courts after a strong quake shook Abra and felt in Metro Manila and nearby locations. 

The high court said in a tweet that work was suspended in the branches and offices of the Malabon Regional Trial Court. 

The SC also suspended work in the Regional Trial Court and Municipal Trial Court of Lingayen and the entire Hall of Justice in Urdaneta City.

Work in the San Fernando Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branches 1 and 2 as well as the Office of the Clerk of Court have been suspended. 

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake struck at 8:43 a.m., three kilometers northwest of Tayum, Abra registering 7.0 at the Richter scale. The quake had a depth of 17 kilometers.
