Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda publicly endorsed the candidacy for president of Vice President Leni Robredo and the vice presidential run of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Salceda said that Robredo and Duterte-Carpio would be a good combination based on their track record.

“Both of them are fiscally responsible,“ Salceda said, noting that both leaders’ projects focus on social development.

“I am for Leni and Sara,” Salceda said, noting that the visions of both aspirants are coherent, backed with a clean track record.

“I have long followed and studied their track record in public service, especially good governance and management style. Both VP Leni and Mayor Sara are known for judicious and effective use of public resources in the offices and agencies they presided over. That will be very crucial given our post-pandemic fiscal space,” he added.

Salceda said that his party PDP-Laban has endorsed Duterte-Carpio for vice president. However, the party has not endorsed any presidential candidate as of the moment.

“Hence, we party members are free to choose according to our own judgment and conviction. Based on my conversations with many political leaders, Albay officialdom, including members of my party, is hugely Leni-Sara,” he said. Ronald Espartinez
